Dewa United Banten’s basketball player Gelvis Solano made history in the 2025 Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) by leading his team to a victory over Satya Wacana Salatiga with a score of 84-62 at GOR Susilo Wibowo, Semarang, on Friday night. The national player from the Dominican Republic became the first player to achieve three triple-doubles in one season in the top-tier basketball league in the country. With Dewa United’s current winning streak of 12 games, Solano’s record is poised to grow further. He has proven to be an invaluable player for the team statistically, standing out as a key figure in the Dewa United Arena in Tangerang. Despite his partner Jordan Lavell Adams being absent due to injury, Solano has stepped up to the challenge given by coach Pablo Favarel. Solano achieved his first triple-double against Kesatria Bengawan Solo with 23 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds. In the following game against Bima Perkasa Jogja, he recorded 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists in a 102-69 win on April 10. In the recent match against Satya Wacana Salatiga, Gelvis Solano scored 14 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists in an 84-62 victory. Throughout the IBL Gopay 2025 season, Solano has consistently scored an average of 15.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 7.7 assists per game in the 17 games played so far, also adding an average of 2.6 steals per game. His impressive performance has earned him a spot in the IBL All-Star 2025, where he will represent the Foreign Stars team against Indonesia Stars on Saturday, May 3.
